Northants Dog Training ClubFalcons Flyball Team
The club recently formed their own flyball team in 2006, called the Northants Falcons. Flyball training is carried out separate to the main obedience club with sessions currently being held on Tuesday evenings. We are small friendly team with a large personality. Although we haven't been under these names for long some members have been involved with flyball for a very long time, working with various breeds of dog and most certainly different temperaments. In previous years our members have been to Crufts in both senior and junior teams. Click on this link to see photos of the Falcons dogs. There are eight qualifying rounds for Crufts Flyball, each is a knock out competition. The first two teams at each competition qualify for Crufts. The team wins the round by winning the first two out of three races in each round. The box is designed to give audience pleasure, it throws the ball up into the air and is much slower than the box we use for all other competitions. Dogs have to be trained specifically for this box, they must be agile, be able to control their speed on the box and catch the ball. If you are interested in finding out more about the team
